Recording with Fraps - Compressing your movie - Uploading your movie.

Post  Lynxs on Sun Feb 08, 2009 5:58 pm

Hello..

Let's cut to the chase.

First: - If you haven't already got it. Download yourself a copy of WinRAR. You can get WinRAR HERE

Second: In order to record your WoW movies.. You'll need fraps. So you can get that HERE

Thrid: Once Fraps is installed, your basically ready to go. - See below for the screenshots of my Fraps settings. *Obviously your user directory paths won't be the same as mine.. So ignore that part*

Fourth: To being your recording your movie, press your "Video Capture Key". So in my case, this would be the = key. When your finished recording, press the key again.

Fith: Ok - Now to watch your movie file back.. to make sure it's all fine and dandy.. Open up Fraps and in the "Movies" Tab - Click on the "View" button in the top right. - This will take you to the directory of where your Fraps videos are saved.

Sixth: Now that you have the video you want, you need to open Windows Movie Maker. - Windows Movie Maker is installed by default and should be located in. "Start menu -> All Programs -> Windows Movie Maker"

Seventh: Once in Windows Movie Maker - Along the top toolbar.. Click on File > Import Media Items. Now browse to your Fraps folder and import the movie you want to compress / edit. - You can also import music etc from this option. Drag your imported movie file to the bottom of the screen into the timeliine.

Eighth: Once your movie is ready. Click on File -> Pulish Movie. *This may be called "Save Movie" depending on what Operating System you have. - I find that these are the most reasonable settings to use. See below:

Ninth: It will take sometime for the video to publish, but once it's done. You need to log into Photobucket and upload it.

Tenth: Show it off...

Hope this clears things up..
And yes, it took a fucking long time to write this.. lol.

Cheers..

Lynxs
